Farming as it should be
Our farm can be found on the Shropshire/Cheshire border, a beautiful part of the world surrounded by glorious countryside, with rich, green pastures perfect for cows to to freely graze on throughout the year. We produce cereals, wheat for milling, organic oats for porridge and animal feed, red and white clover for grazing cows and sheep. The clover we produce is then sold to local organic milk producers.
Benefits of Organic Farming
Organic farming uses virtually no pesticides.
No artificial colours
Artificial food colours are banned under organic standards, so of course, we don’t use them.
Organic means no artificial food colours or preservatives.
GM ingredient free
The use of genetically modified organisms is banned under organic standards.
Organic means always free range with cows being encouraged to forage and graze.
Organic Milk Producers
Every drop of milk we use for the organic range is sourced from Red Tractor certified organic farms within a 25 mile radius. Our cows are grass-fed and benefit from the highest standards of animal welfare seen in the farming industry. All of this combines to create cheese you can trust, from trusted sources in a completely traceable supply chain. Belton Farm cheese is made, quite frankly, as it should be – with commitment, attention to detail and rigorous annual inspections from independent authorities.

Animal welfare is, of course, a critical part of organic farming. We like to think of organic farming as working with nature – on the one hand protecting natural resources like fresh water and healthy soils, and on the other, actively encouraging cows to forage and graze. Organic cows are always free range, and as such, they have plenty of space and fresh air to thrive and grow.
All of this means that Belton Farm cheese is cheese as it should be.
