A look back at our 2025 Supreme Champion win as the new awards season begins.
As a new cheese competition season gets underway, we’ve been looking back on one of the proudest moments for everyone at Belton Farm, winning Supreme Champion at the International Cheese & Dairy Awards 2025.
Our Traditional Coloured Cheshire was awarded the title of Supreme Champion Cheese, selected from thousands of entries from across the UK and around the world. With more than a century of history behind the awards, and judging carried out by experienced industry experts across appearance, texture, aroma and flavour, the standard is always exceptionally high, which makes this recognition particularly meaningful to us.
For our team, the award was a real celebration of traditional British cheesemaking and the heritage of Cheshire cheese.
Cheshire Cheese has been made in our region for generations, and as fourth-generation cheesemakers, the Beckett family have been producing Cheshire cheese for over 120 years. Today, we continue to follow the same time-honoured methods, working with milk sourced from free range, grass-fed herds on local farms to create a cheese with the distinctive rounded flavour and crumbly, creamy texture that Cheshire is known for.
Awards of this kind are never the work of one individual. This achievement reflects the dedication of our entire team, from the farmers who supply our milk, to our cheesemakers, graders and packing teams whose skill, care and consistency make results like this possible year after year.
As we head into another year of judging and competitions, we remain just as committed to making the very best Cheshire cheese we can, and to continuing the traditions that have been part of Belton Farm for more than a century.
We would also like to thank our customers, partners and colleagues across the industry for their continued support.
